Dr. Diana Medgyesy and Front Range Cancer Specialists were recognized by the Women's Resource Center at a community luncheon.

Dr Diana C. Medgyesy and Annette Zacharias, Executive Director, Women's Resource Center.
On May 14th at the Marriot in Fort Collins the Women’s Resource Center held a community luncheon to recognize local ‘Pink Rocks’, people who have reached out into our community and helped women who have or may have a high risk for breast, cervical and ovarian cancers.

Dr Diana Medgyesy was proudly recognized with one of the Susan G. Komen for the Cure—Denver Affiliate, PROVIDER RECOGNITION HONOREES. The Komen Foundation recognized her contribution to building the PVH (Poudre Valley Hospital) breast cancer research program, referring many patients for clinical trials. Her tireless advocacy and commitment to breast cancer research to benefit women in Northern Colorado and all of the world is making this dream reality.

Susan G. Komen for the Cure

In 1982, Nancy Brinder took up the torch to fight breast cancer after losing her beloved sister, Susan, to the disease. She started the Susan G. Komen for the Cure Foundation for fund breast health education, ensure quality, affordable care for all women, and promote research for a cure. In 25 years, the foundation has revolutionized the way the world looks at breast cancer, transforming it from an embarrassing, private ‘women’s disease’ into a highly visible crusade to understand, treat and cure this indiscriminate killer. Early detection and treatment are the keys to turning breast cancer patients into breast cancer survivors. Today, 75% of women over 40 receive regular mammograms, compared to less than 30% in 1982. Komen is committed to finish what they started, eradicating breast cancer from the face of the earth.
