Story provided by the
Leukemia Lymphoma Society, Rocky Mountain Chapter. www.lightthenight.org/rm
Thank you so much to all who have helped make Light The Night 2007 a success so far! All five Rocky Mountain Walks have taken place, and we were so lucky to have had nice weather and a wonderful turnout for each of the events. The Light The Night staff is working diligently to complete the data entry process, update you on fundraising totals and make sure you have all the information you need to redeem any incentive prizes you might have earned. This part of the campaign should be completed by the end of November. In the meantime, please don't hesitate to contact us with any questions you might have.
We have some important announcements to share, so please read below for the latest 2007 Light The Night Walk updates!
Incentive Update
Keep an eye on your mailbox for an incentive letter during the month of December. If your fundraising total is more than $300 by December 1st, you will receive a letter containing detailed instructions on how to redeem your incentive gift, including the login information. Please contact us at 303.984.2110 with any questions.
Keep Fundraising in November...and Win a Home Theater System!
The largest individual fundraiser during the month of November will receive a home theater system valued at more than $4,000 thanks to UFCW (United Food and Commercial Workers Union.) Only funds raised online from November 1st through November 22nd count toward this promotion. Be sure to e-mail your webpage to friends, family members and co-workers one more time to solicit donations. Every dollar helps with research and patient services, and could get you closer to enjoying a home theater system as well!
Want to be More Involved? Join a Planning Committee!
We are currently recruiting planning committee members in each of the five Walk cities - Boulder, Colorado Springs, Denver, Fort Collins and Longmont. These volunteer committee members help with logistics, team recruitment, sponsorship recruitment, volunteer recruitment, public relations and Mission-related aspects of the Walks. If you are interested in learning more about the planning committee for Denver or Colorado Springs, please contact Joni Hart at 303.984.2110 ext. 18 or at joni.hart@lls.org . If you would like to learn more about helping out in Boulder, Fort Collins or Longmont, contact Amanda Hosford at 303.984.2110 ext. 22 or amanda.hosford@lls.org.
Meet Two Honored Heroes
Scott and Kyle Faulkner are brothers from Northglenn who are both in remission from blood cancers. Scott, 18 years old, was diagnosed with Hodgkin's Lymphoma in 1995. Kyle, 17 years old, was diagnosed with Large B Cell Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma in 2007. Both young men enjoy hockey and spoke beautifully about their experiences at Boulder's Light The Night Walk.
On behalf of Scott and Kyle, and the thousands of patients and families battling blood cancers, thank you for helping Light The Night!
Funds raised through the Light The Night Walk support The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's mission: to find a cure for leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkins disease and myeloma, and to improve the quality of life for patients and their families.
Our Light The Night Staff would like to thank all of our participants who helped make this year the most successful event season yet. We would also like to recognize those individuals, teams and businesses that raised a great deal of money. Please look below to find our big supporters. (**Note: The listings are accurate as of 11/7/07 and are subject to change with additional fundraising.)
