FASLODEX
(Fulvestrant)

• Hormonal treatment for metastatic breast cancer.

• Given IM (intramuscularly) once a month.

• Blocks the effects of estrogen.

• Some of the side effects may include:

1. Hot Flashes
   • Generally mild. Exercise and hydration will help.
   • Avoid alcohol, smoking, and caffeine.
   • Discuss with your physician or nurse practitioner other medical treatments if your hot flashes become severe or interrupt your sleep.
     
2. Fatigue
   • Generally mild.
   • Exercise and good nutrition will help.
     
3. Pain at injection site
   • Generally mild.
   • Can use Tylenol as needed for pain.
