Bleomycin
(Blenoxane)

• Usually given intravenously (can also be given IM or subcutaneously).
  
• Frequently given with other chemotherapy drugs.
  
• Some of the side effects may include:
  

1. Fever and chills
   • May start 4-10 hours after administration, and last up to 24 hours.
   • Tylenol can be used to help control fever.
2. Pulmonary changes
   • May occur with high cumulative doses; total doses will be monitored and proper precautions taken.
   • Report any shortness of breath or new cough to the doctor or nurse.
3. Skin Changes
   • Darkening and thickening may occur, especially on the palms and fingers. Skin there may also peel or become tender.
     

• Other less common side effects include:
  • Nausea / Vomiting.
  • Mouth sores.
  • Changes in taste.
